Mos Def Performs like William Shatner

So Mos Def Performed in San Francisco Last night with Dead Prez, Supernatural, Goapele, and Special Appearance by Dave Chappelle. It was all good and fun with the perfomrers and DJ's helping with the transitions between teh two. After 1 AM in the morning Mos Def comes out. Thats when the trouble started.

Instead of having a setlist of songs to perform, Mos Def pretty much put his iPod into shuffle and started performing songs he felt like performing of other people. Once in while he would do some of his songs. But man, he would stop after the songs are over and just start talking and messing around on stage. You should have seen the crowd on some of the distored covers he was doing to where they were all dead silent. Some people were nodding off with their heads leaned against a speaker or wall. This went on for another hour before I left halfway through his set.

The worst part was when he debut some of his cuts from his new album (Which sounded real good with Slick Rick) he didn't perform them at all. He just was lipping and grooving to it. What the hell man??

So If you want to see Mos Def Live while he is on tour, expect him to perform 30% of his Content and do covers like this:

Mos Def - Say You Will (Live Kanye Cover) (12min) Not from SF performance but 2dopeboyz in NYC
