The Importance of New Artists Covering Other Artists

With a lot of new artists getting national attention and exposure because of the internet connecting fans straight to the artist, the demand of content grows quickly. Also with new freshman artists like Wale, Lykke Li, and Ting Tings already touring nationally, there is a problem to headlining because of the lack of caltalog to fill a one hour plus Setlist.

The answer? Covers of course (Rappers Sample or Freestyle). Although its not a new thing to do, its now become more important to have some material to keep their fans following them.

**This does not excuse Mos Def messing around on stage breaking the setlist and talking every 3 minutes**

Some of my favorite covers

Little Boots - Day 'n Night (Kid Cudi)

Lady Gaga - Viva La Vida (Coldplay)

KiD CuDi - I Poke Her Face Feat Kanye West and Common (Lady Gaga)

Lykke Li - After Laughter (Wendy Rene)
