 Although 2pac would have been 40 years old as of this year 2011, he passed away at the age of 25 on September 13 1996. Today (September 5th) I turned 26 and now I looked back at myself as a kid when I used to admire 2pac and had the thoughts if I were to live beyond 25. With 2pac always talking about death how could I not think about dying at an early age?

Any 80's baby that loves hip-hop had some connection to folk legend 2pac. I remember as a kid I grew up idolizing that man's music. I also did was hang on his every word he gave when he conducted interviews. The way he spoke during those interviews were always with conviction and compassion. I was no different than any other kid as I wanted to be just like my hero.

Although I've moved on from just listening to 2pac cds on my little boom box and reading makaveli rumors on the internet, I look at myself now and do see some of reflection of what I admired. His respect for women, loyalty for his friends, his sharp tongue of opinion, and making sure every day I live as if tomorrow might not exist are some of the things I at least try to do in my life daily. I think other people see that too:

It will be another couple of days until the 15th year anniversary of 2pac's death will come upon us. All the lost interviews, videos and tributes will come out soon through the other blogs. Yet for this blog I get to share a few thoughts on living past one of my childhood heros.
